Forecast for Monday 02 January 2023 to Friday 06 January 2023
General Situation: There will be colder, generally dry and brighter conditions today (Monday) across England, compared to recent days, and also a widespread overnight frost for eastern areas. However, this doesn’t last long with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday expected to see unsettled weather conditions with spells of rain and strong winds and temperatures close to or slightly above average. Another drier and colder spell is likely briefly on Friday, especially for northern England. However, the trigger criteria are not expected to be met throughout the forecast period, as the colder conditions that occur will be brief and not severe enough.

General Situation: Currently a continuation of unsettled weather conditions are expected, with the wettest conditions across northern and western areas and driest conditions across the south and east. Temperatures mostly close to or above average for the time of year, although some brief colder spells at times in the north. Trigger criteria are not expected to be met.
Forecast for Tuesday 17 January 2023 to Tuesday 31 January 2023
General Situation: The most likely scenario is for periods of unsettled weather to persist, but with some drier and perhaps slightly colder interludes occurring. However, milder conditions are likely to be most prevalent, with no signs of significant or protracted cold weather occurring. Therefore the trigger criteria are not expected to be met.
